YAL

(Youth Ambassador Leadership) Safety Program Middle Years (4-8)

The YAL safety program is delivered through primary and secondary schools and encourages students to take ownership and responsibility for managing safety and risks. The program engages students in the promotion of safety issues, practices and events within their own school.

A resource kit is available to upper primary and lower secondary teachers and student welfare coordinators. This resource outlines a developmental program whereby students develop increasing agency and mechanisms for dealing with safety issues within a culture of leadership.
